Niykee continues to write songs despite having been part of the current crisis. She was hand-picked for her participation in YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. Her songwriting routine is now an inspiring source for aspiring producers. Niykee is always listening to beats and discovers many songs that inspire her. In just 5 minutes when I'm able to determine the beat's worthwhile. Then, I get the idea of a whole song inside my head and start to write. While I'm on my back porch playing guitar, the lyrics just come out and can be done in less than 30 minutes. It's tough to forget the painful memories of my early years, particularly the loss of my sister. The memories end up getting incorporated in her music. The grief of losing my sister and my childhood influences the songs that I compose. It is important for me to attach a profound purpose to what I perform.
