Pickler was raised by her grandmothers throughout her lifetime. She credits them with having the greatest influence to influence her in the course of her life. Grandmother Faye Pickler died from lung cancer in the month of January, 2002. she was continued to be raised by her grandfather. Pickler graduated from the North Stanly High School in New London (North Carolina).
