The career of Swallow began with Broadway theater where she was a part of several productions. This comprised High Fidelity and King Lear at the Guthrie Theater. Other productions include Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park. The off-Broadway debuts of Romantic Poetry and Measuring for Pleasure. Swallow made her debut as a film actress with the 2008 military thriller The Lucky Ones.
